[accordion_title] => What is the HIV Activists Network?
[accordion_body] => The HIV Activists Network is a virtual group of people who are passionate about the rights of people living with HIV and the importance of effective HIV education, prevention and testing.
The network has been established as an opportunity to get involved in NAT’s campaigning work and give people living with HIV a greater voice on the topics that matter to them – such as health, benefits, and discrimination – and the tools and resources to make this happen.
There are no rules or restrictions on who can join the network – it’s open to anyone who wants to get involved and make a difference. Some people may shy away from the term ‘activist’, thinking they’ll need to be loud, visible, and knowledgeable on complex subjects. But with the HIV Activists Network, you don’t need to be any of these things. All you need is a desire to bring about change.

[accordion_title] => What does being a member of the HIV Activists Network involve?
[accordion_body] => Being an HIV Activists Network member involves taking up individual campaign actions which are aimed at influencing decision makers on different issues.
Campaign actions are developed by NAT on topics which have been highlighted to us as being important to people living with HIV – either through our own research, our partnerships with Positively UK, the Stigma Index and AHPN, or the HIV Activists themselves.
Campaign actions will always relate to a specific topic or issue and the actions might be, for example, emailing your local MP or councillor, or speaking to people in your local community. It’s totally up to you how many campaign actions you take part in and NAT will support your activity by providing background information on every topic, template letters and emails, contact details – and any other resources you may need.

What is the HIV Activists Network?

The HIV Activists Network is a virtual group of people who are passionate about the rights of people living with HIV and the importance of effective HIV education, prevention and testing.

What does being a member of the HIV Activists Network involve?

Being an HIV Activists Network member involves taking up individual campaign actions which are aimed at influencing decision makers on different issues.

What is the HIV Activists Network aiming to achieve?

The aim of the HIV Activists Network is to mobilise and empower people to take direct action on the issues affecting the lives, rights and well being of people living with HIV. The network aims to ultimately bring about change by encouraging people to make their voices heard and arming them with the tools and resources to make this happen.
